Waiting at Rainbow Bridge
Shadow
Sassy
Shadow was our 1st
of our many goldens and our best friend. We lost him unexpectedly January 9th, 2005.
It just seemed like yesterday we brought this adorable and snuggly pup with
floppy ears home. A sweet little pup that would follow me from room to room,
waiting, waiting patiently for me. Even waiting at my feet in the bathroom.
Where did the time go?? In a blink of an eye, you grew into such a sweet,
loving and devoted member of our family. And now I find myself looking for you,
and your not there, following behind me room to room. But knowing we will be
together again at Rainbow Bridge brings us some peace. We will always be
so grateful for the love and happiness you gave us. And we are so very honored
to be a part of your life. You will be forever in our hearts.. We miss you
Shadow!!!
We lost Sassy a year
and a half later on June 5th, 2006. Sassy and Shadow were born a few days apart
and were inseparable from the time we brought them home until the time Shadow
left us. They ate side by side, slept side by side and even when Sassy
gave birth to a litter, Shadow was by her side. But knowing that they are
together again at Rainbow Bridge brings us some peace. But I will forever miss
your head lying on my lap and your loving eyes looking into mine.. We will miss
you always..
Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of Heaven is a place called The
Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone
here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill or old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling to each other in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
